Thank you for choosing Orlando Harley-Davidson’s Basic Riders Course. We are confident that you will find this to be a valuable and pleasing introduction to the world of motorcycling or a great way to involve yourself if you have not ridden for a while. The Basic Rider Course is based on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s curriculum and is certified by the Florida Rider Training Program. All instructors have successfully completed state certified training programs.
Upon successful completion of the Basic Riders Course your information will be entered into the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles database. This allows you to report to any DMV office and receive your endorsement with no further testing. You will also receive a MSF completion card that may qualify you for insurance discounts. For training we typically use the Buell Blast® which is a small, American-made bike that was designed with features requested by educators.

PRE-COURSE SUGGESTED ASSIGNMENT
A welcome packet has been prepared for you and is available at Orlando Harley-Davidson. In this packet you will find forms that require your signature and the MSF Basic Rider Course Handbook. Please read the handbook as you will get out of this course what you are willing to put into it, and don’t forget to bring your MSF book, a pen, a highlighter and riding gear to your classes.
Understanding expectationsIf you come prepared, we’ll make every effort to guide you successfully through the Basic Riding Course. However, please understand not every student successfully completes the course. If you are unable to meet the objectives of an excersize or pose a safety risk to yourself or others, a Rider Coach may counsel you out of the course. If you do not complete the course, you will become a “standby student”. As a standby student you have up to 60 days from your original claas date to come back and try again, at no additional charge.
RIDER EDUCATION CANCELLATION POLICY
This course, by nature, can expose students to heat, cold, and rain. Due to our sunny Florida climate we suggest that you pre-hydrate yourself prior to coming to class. It is not unusual to experience daily showers, so raingear is suggested. Sessions are postponed only if the instructor deems the conditions unsafe. Any student who feels that they may have a problem with the physical exertion necessary to safely operate a motorcycle should contact us in advance to discuss any limitations or concerns.
Classes are taught in English. If you need a translator for any other language, you may provide one at your expense. We will be happy to accommodate this, however, please notified upon your registration.
Once you have chosen your class schedule, payment will be required to confirm a booking in that class for you. Class fees are Non Refundable. If you fail to show up for any portion of the class, improper riding gear, counseled out by a rider coach or invalid Drivers License status, you may forfeit the tuition. Florida law requires that you posses a valid driver’s license or learners permit to enroll in a class. You will have up to 60 days to complete the course from the original class date should you be placed on a Standby student status, due to infractions such as these.
